Before you commit

Agree why your family is moving, how long you hope to stay and which decisions depend on school or work.

Prepare an inventory of documents and ask the relevant school, authority or professional which current requirements apply.

Build an annual budget

List education, housing, healthcare, insurance, transport, household services and day-to-day spending.

Separate recurring expenses from deposits and one-off moving costs. Use current quotations and keep a contingency allowance.

Before arrival

Confirm accommodation, arrival transport, document access, school contacts and moving-provider arrangements.

Keep essential medicines and documents accessible and confirm any transport or entry requirements with the relevant provider.

Your first month

Work through handover, communications, banking information, healthcare contacts and school routines in a manageable order.

Review what remains unresolved with your advisor, and choose ongoing support around your actual needs.

This is a planning framework. Confirm current school, provider and official requirements before making commitments.
